Hello! My name is Alicia. I was born at the world’s busiest border, Tijuana, and I’ve been living in Mexico City for six years now. I consider myself a music lover, a weirdo at heart, and a constant polyglot wannabe, haha!
Starting with “Un tal Borges”
I met “Gil” in 2019 on another project, just before the pandemic. In 2020, he sent me the first draft of “Un tal Borges” to see if I was interested. When I read it, I felt an almost instant connection. I liked it a lot because it was very different from other work I had done before. What really hooked me was the fantasy of creating another universe through dreams and the idea of not being able to define what is real and what isn’t.
Describing Eileen
I think my biggest connection with Eileen is her fascination with reading and books. Personally, I find refuge in books and writing. When I read about Eileen, I loved the idea of representing someone whose imagination allows her to completely immerse herself in fiction. I love that Eileen is someone with no limits in her thinking.

Preparing for the Role
I did introspective work to find which parts of myself connected more with Eileen. I really enjoy that when a new character comes into my life, I can search for all those unexpressed versions of myself and represent them through the character. Eileen gave me that opportunity.
Challenges During Filming
It was extremely hot in Veracruz, in the dunes where we filmed the dream of “Tlön”. We had to endure the adventure of the weather and the unpredictability of nature. Another challenge was working with my scene partner, Jesus. Often, as actors, we work from different places to tell the same story. Finding a middle ground where we could connect was a challenge and a victory. Jesus and I found ways to make it work.

Most Gratifying Scene
The most important scene for me is when Eileen wakes up from the dream of Tlön and doesn’t know if what she is experiencing is real or not (spoiler: I think it is real, haha!). For me, it was a scene with a lot of value. It means a lot of things, even metaphorically: the breakup of a relationship, the fantasy of uncertainty, the desire to believe in the unknown. There were many emotions at play in that moment. I can say it is my favorite scene.

Collaboration with the Team
It was a very fun atmosphere, honestly. With “Gil”—that’s the nickname I gave Fer throughout the shoot—we managed to understand each other quite well. Despite having very different personalities, I think we are both very meticulous and passionate about our work, which allowed us to work very well together. And our producer, George, is someone you’ll always want to work with after meeting him. He’s an incredible guy!
Message for the Audience
There are always a world of possibilities, always. Life and dreams are a matter of perspective.
